Yr2 British Wildlife Centre Trip

Dear Year 2 Families,

On Monday 15th June, the children will be going on a trip to British Wildlife Centre This will reflect their Science topic on Animals and their habitats in the Summer Term.
The British Wildlife Centre focuses on teaching children to appreciate and respect Britain’s own wonderful native wild species, and therefore help children develop a life-long interest in their protection and survival. This visit will give the children the opportunity to see the animals close up and learn how they have adapted to their environment which is a key part of the year 2 curriculum.
On this day, our lunch provider, Easy Lunch will be providing a packed lunch for those that normally have hot lunches.
Children should wear:
• Sensible trousers/jeans
• school jumper/cardigan
• school P.E. t-shirt
• sturdy shoes- such as trainers
• a waterproof coat
• a sun hat placed
• a small backpack, which they will also carry their Easy Lunch packed lunch in.
Please ensure that the children do not bring any cameras or money and note that suntan lotion should be applied to your child before you bring them to school as we are not permitted to apply it.
Children will need to be brought to school at the normal time of 8.45am, and the coach will be due to arrive back at the academy at 3.15pm.
As always, we ask parents for a voluntary contribution in order to run this trip. On this occasion it will be £18.60 – which covers the cost of the coach, entrance fee and workshop. This payment can be made in two instalments to help spread the cost or you can pay in full by 13th April.
1st instalment - £10.00 by 11th February
2nd instalment - £8.60 by 13th April
Parents are not obliged to make a contribution, however it is probable that if insufficient monies are received, the trip will have to be cancelled. If there are exceptional cases of hardship the academy will try to support costs through its own budget but this would reduce what we are able to spend in terms of materials and equipment for children. If you are unable to a contribution, you are invited to contact me in confidence so that suitable arrangements can be made to help cover the costs of your child’s participation.
If your child is in receipt of pupil premium, the academy with fund this trip for them.

Which payment are you making?*
