Our Academy

Welcome

At The Southwater Infant Academy, we believe children learn best in response to the environment they find themselves in and the adults they encounter. Our vision, 'Growing, Learning and Succeeding Together', shapes everything we do.

Ofsted recognised that pupils are happy at our nurturing and friendly school, noting there is a palpable ethos of high aspiration and mutual respect. Inspectors observed that adults and pupils work in good-humoured harmony, striving for the very best, making the school a hive of happy activity. Our pupils explain that they 'never give up'.

This reflects our commitment to developing the whole child. We have high expectations of behaviour and academic standards, supported by our broad and balanced curriculum that maximises every opportunity for growth. Our highly committed and professional team enables each child to achieve their best, support each other and, above all, enjoy their learning and develop into lifelong learners.

Our families tell us this approach makes a real difference. In our January 2026 parent survey, 96% of parents agreed that we successfully support their child's personal development in areas such as confidence, resilience and understanding right and wrong. Every single parent who responded felt confident that our staff know their child and understand their individual needs, and 96% agreed that we provide a high-quality education.

We are a warm, welcoming place that prides itself on the positive relationships we have with children and their families. Every child and adult is valued, and we actively encourage social and moral awareness, self-discipline and a striving to do one's best in all areas.

I hope you enjoy your visit to our website and that it gives you a glimpse of all we have to offer your child. We'd love to welcome you to our academy and show you us in action. Please contact our office to book your visit!
