What an incredible time our Year 2 children are having at Woodland School!
Our children explore nature in the most wonderful way - from creating beautiful salt dough wildlife models decorated with natural treasures like twigs, bark and feathers, to becoming nature detectives on scavenger hunts, spotting flowers, spider webs and collecting interesting objects.
Wishing all a very warm welcome back to the academy! We have a busy but short term ahead. Please check our calendar of events for all these key dates.
As we reach the end of term, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our children, families, and staff for their hard work and dedication throughout the year.
We hope everyone enjoys a peaceful and restful break, spending quality time with family and friends, and we look forward to welcoming all our pupils back on Monday 5th January 2026.

Enjoy lots of fun and exciting activities for all the family, shop and interact with over 12 local businesses including many arts, crafts and gifting stalls and enjoy creating special family memories whilst helping raise money for charity at the same time! Expect lots of fun, laughter, festive cheer and heaps of prizes to be won for everyone!
Well done to everyone who took part in BBC Children in Need! It was lovely to see the children in spots joining in the fun and great to see so much creativity and enthusiasm for such an important cause!

Welcome Back
We are delighted to welcome our Yr1 and Yr2 pupils back to school today. It has been wonderful to see everyone return with such enthusiasm, ready for the year ahead.
We are also very much looking forward to welcoming our new Reception children on Friday, as they begin their school journey with us.
Wishing all our families a successful and happy school year.
A reminder that our last day of term is Tuesday 22nd July. We finish at normal time and children are invited to wear non-uniform.
The Southwater Academies PTFA is excited to announce that on Saturday 5th July 2025 we will be running our extremely popular ‘Summer Fair’ community event between 12pm and 4pm.
The fair will be held across the Southwater Infant and Junior Academies and is a lovely opportunity for the communities of both academies, and our friends of Southwater and Horsham to come together to enjoy a fantastic and fun-filled family day out.

Red Nose day is back on Friday 21st March and we are inviting the children to attend school with normal uniform and 'Funky Hair' for a donation via https://donation.comicrelief.com/.
It's that time of year again when we celebrate World Book Day! This year, we'll be sharing our love of reading with the children on Thursday 6th March through a variety of exciting classroom activities and events.
