Please find below our Parent Overview detailing what our children in Year 2 are learning this week.

| Literacy | This week we will be continuing to use the text “The Way Back Home”. We will be rereading the text and answering comprehension questions. Our vocabulary focus will be on synonyms looking for alternative words to make our writing more powerful. Finally, we will start innovating our story map. |
| Maths |
We will continue to look at measurement and measuring in g, kg, ml and litres. Perhaps your child can help with the cooking this week by helping you read the scales! |

Science |
Our work on habitats continues as we look closer at the wildlife that live in the school grounds. We will use our investigative skills while pond dipping as we try and identify the many creatures that make their home there. |
| Foundation subjects | We will be putting our map reading to the test in Geography as we aim to complete our orienteering course accurately and quickly. In PSHE we will be focusing on Road Safety as we continue to learn about keeping safe. In R.E. we will be comparing what we know about Christianity with our learning about Islam thinking about similarities and differences. |

We also believe in listening to your children and responding to their interests and ideas therefore all our planning is flexible.
