Please find below our Parent Overview detailing what our children in the Early Years Foundation Stage are learning this week. Date w/c 09/02/2026

Curriculum area	We are learning to…
Language and communication	Learn new vocabulary – occupation, internet, online, safety. Play listening games to develop my communication skills.
Literacy	Spell the tricky words ‘into’, ‘he’, ‘she’ and ‘go’. Recognise some new sounds in phonics – er,ow,oi,nk Read some new words using the sounds: er, ow,oi,nk Practise forming capital letters: N, P, Q, R. To write about what they would like to do/be when they grow up.
Maths	To understand how numbers 5, 6, 7 and 8 are composed.
Understanding the World	To discuss the different places and the different roles people play in our community.
Expressive Art and Design	To create a model using recycled materials.
Personal, Social and Emotional Development	Understand some of the ways we can keep safe online.
Physical Development	Explore rolling a ball using our hands. Move in different ways on the apparatus in gymnastics. Hold a pencil effectively. Have a go at forming the letters N, P, Q & R.
Other information / important dates	PE Days are on a Monday

Please note this is a basic overview of the planning for this week. It is impossible to cover in this outline all the learning that takes place during a week! We also believe in listening to your children and responding to their interests and ideas therefore all our planning is flexible. Please note some of the learning will take place across more than one week and during some weeks the learning focus may not cover all curriculum areas.
