Parent Overview EYFS

Please find below our Parent Overview detailing what our children in the Early Years Foundation Stage are learning this week. Date w/c 12/10/26

Curriculum area	We are learning to…
Language and communication	Sing songs related to Harvest. Learn new vocabulary – “squealed”, ‘private’, ‘route’ and ‘print’.
Literacy	Revising tricky words a and is Revising phonemes taught so far; s,a,t,p,i,n, m and d. Write the shared sentences “To Sam. I am (name).” Tell stories using the pictures. Listen to and begin to retell the story of The Three Little Pigs.
Maths	Beginning to investigate the composition of number.
Understanding the World	Continue to observe seasonal changes. Learn about the Hindu festival of Diwali.
Expressive Art and Design	Practise our Harvest Festival songs. Colouring mixing brown and using the paint to create brick houses for Sam Pig.
Physical Development	Exploring how to walk in different ways. Create dances to well-known nursery rhymes. Hold a pencil effectively.
Personal, Social and Emotional Development	Understand the NSPCC PANTS rule and why it is important. Understand and discuss the emotion of worry in relation to the grey monster from our ‘Colour Monster’ book.
Other information / important dates	Friday 16th October - Parking Promise at drop off Harvest Assemblies – 22nd & 23rd October

We also believe in listening to your children and responding to their interests and ideas therefore all our planning is flexible. Please note some of the learning will take place across more than one week and during some weeks the learning focus may not cover all curriculum areas.
