Parent Overview EYFS

Please find below our Parent Overview detailing what our children in the Early Years Foundation Stage are learning this week. Date w/c 28/09/26

Language and communication	isten carefully at carpet time have conversations with our friends answer simple questions discuss what makes a good friend
Literacy	listen to and discuss the story ‘The Rainbow Fish’ draw a picture of us and a friend and write their name to read the tricky words: a read the sounds: s, a, t, p
Maths	subitise 1, 2 and 3 (be able to say the amount without needing to count)
Understanding the World	read ‘Old Bear’ and ‘Dogger’ and discuss how the books are written in the past and how times have changed
Expressive Art and Design	understand that we can mix the primary colours to make other colours to explore what sounds we can make using our bodies (sensory).
Physical Development	to move in a range of different ways to explore the movement of jumping and jump in different ways
Personal, Social and Emotional Development	To discuss what makes a good friend and create a class rainbow fish Read ‘This is Our House’ and discuss why it is important to share Read ‘Pip and Posy The Bedtime Frog’ and discuss how the characters have been a good friend
Other information / important dates	PE begins Monday 28th September!

Please note some of the learning will take place across more than one week and during some weeks the learning focus may not cover all curriculum areas.
